Elin Woods originally would recieve $20 million after 10 years of marriage if she and Tiger Woods split up. We all know what happened next... so according to Yahoo Sports, Elin Woods received an immediate $5 million payout from Tiger plus approximately $55 million added to her $20 million pre-nup agreement. But, always the big but, in order to qualify for the pre-nup, Elin Woods must keep her mouth shut, show up with Woods to social events and play "happy" wife. In addition, she has to sign a non-disclosure agreement preventing her from telling her side of the story, ever. So this is for better or worse?

Thank God I'm poor and will probably never have to worry about a girl marrying or staying with me for money. God bless.

Here is a little story to inspire you:

“Edna Towle – my maternal grandmother – was forced to sell her 1,000-acre ranch at the height of the Great Depression in 1936 in order to meet bank loans. She had been abandoned by her husband to run the ranch in the foothills of Nevada County with seven kids to raise in 1929. With three kids still at home at age 55, she moved to town and started cleaning houses, working the night shift at the cannery, and took on odd jobs. She bought a small lot and built her own home by her own hand going along as she could.”

“The house is more than modest by today’s standard. It has three bedrooms, one bathroom, and less than 800 square feet. She never complained, never looked back, and never cursed her lot in life. She had kids yet to raise and had to support herself. She did what she had to do.”

“When she died at age 85, all of the possessions she had were essentially in her modest home as she didn’t even have a car. But she raised seven kids essentially on her own, refused to wallow in self-pity, demanded of herself and others that they do the best they could, and paid all of her debts. And she also made sure to help those who were less fortunate however she could.”

“She also refused to judge herself against others who had more material things. It is something that those who have to start over today should keep in mind especially if they are not among those who are walking away from their home simply because it is worth less today than it was when they bought it. There is great dignity in doing the right thing. There is no shame in failing if you tried to do the right thing but couldn’t overcome circumstances. You can fail and you can get back up again.”

“Success in life isn’t about big screen TVs, big houses, touring Europe, or the latest gadgets. It is about how you deal with trials and tribulations.”

source: The Manteca Bulletin

Rumor: Tiger Woods cheats on wife

I'm not that interested in Tiger cheating as much as whom he is cheating with. All man will probably cheat given the opportunity; it is in the subconscious for man to procreate with as many partners as possible to ensure the survival of his genes. I know, I know, some of you ladies out there will refuse to believe this. I know what you are thinking: “my man will never cheat on me!” If you man is good-looking and wealthy or successful as Jude Law, Eric Benet, Brad Pitt, Billy Bob Thornton, Peter Cook, Hugh Grant (caught in the act, lol), Marc Anthony, Mario Lopez, Bill Clinton, J.F. Kennedy, and heck, even Letterman… need I go on? And those were the ones that got caught…
Anyway, if Tiger is cheating, it only proves that he is human after all and not some golf cyborg that doesn’t make mistakes.

However... from this

to this?

most disappointing...

SEO... hahaha

I just love how marketers gives everything an acronym to make it "special." Back in 2001, you submitted to search engines, clean code with tags, and made your website Section 508 compliant as part of being a decent web developer... now, we have a title - SEO. I can't believe companies are actually paying extra for what they should have in the first place. Isn't that what QA is for?

Now that the scam is up (especially for those that alter clicks) and Google changed their algorithm (2008)... what is next? Social sites! Hmm, maybe I should add "Social Site Guru" to my resume.

Here is an idea for all the Directors of Marketing in the US: how about creating a decent product that people will want to know about by name?

$0 Google ad fees
$0 SEO, SEM, Traffic Guru, Social specialist, blah blah blah fees

The solution is shocking simple, is it not?

As sad as it seems, I feel like I'm trying to date a company:

Preparation
The time is near, and you are still wondering what the heck you are going to wear to make that critical first impression... blue shirt or white shirt? Then comes the grooming, making sure you are neat, but not to scream out "anal" (like that nerd poster boy on Mariah Carey's Touch my Body video).

On the drive there, you are going over lines in you head, and god forbid an awkward silence. Was HR director's name Jenny or Penny? Did I prepare enough for this? Did I bring everything I need? You bring with you all the hopes and expectations along with the memories of failed first dates from your past... and why is this traffic moving so slowly?!

Meeting the parents
When you finally arrive, you are usually put in a room with your competitors before being grilled by overprotective parents (interviewers). They cast a doubtful view at you… usually thinking “is he/she good enough for my precious?” No matter how nice they seem, they share the common goal of catching you off guard saying something ridiculous so that they can cross your name of “the list” of potential suitors. They ask about your past relationships (companies you worked for), friends and family, hobbies, and the big questions, “what are your strengths and weaknesses.” Like anyone actually knows or is willing to admit to their own weakness(es), I mean, if you had a weakness, would you not what to improve on it so it will no longer be a weakness? But anyway, you know the drill, you sing and dance as if you were on the last show on Broadway.

Aftermath
After the dust settles, they are either in awe, not impressed, or in shock at the awful performance, and you can usually tell just by their facial expressions. With a firm handshake, they send you on your way; you are just glad it is over. When you arrive at home is when the initial shock wears off and flashback starts: you magnify all your mistakes or moments when you know you could have done better and wish you did. Alas, it is too late; all you can know is pray for the phone call that gives you a second chance do to this all over again.

:vacant:

... and the date hasn't even started...
